Guerber Far and above all other narrative histories of Rome for children, Guerber’s the Story of the Romans is an excellent introduction to Ancient Rome. However, this was in the archaic period (the  very early days) and much of its traces must have disappeared.  Moreover, Etruscan civilization decayed fairly soon, while the  Roman one continued to flourish and develop for many more  centuries.    We are told that Romulus used an Etruscan ritual for the foundation  of Rome.
